Scale This Question To Fit Your Life

“What would you do if you knew you could not fail?” –American pastor Robert H. Schuller
The benefit of this question is that it answers a lot of other questions along the way. What is the meaning of life? What is the secret to happiness? Your answer to this question answers all of these theoretical questions in the end.
Often times you get distracted by the details of life and lose track of the big picture. This question gives you permission to overlook the details and get right to the big picture.
But to make the question more useful it’s necessary to scale it down to fit your life.

What would you do differently with your life if you knew you wouldn’t fail?

This question is more personal and relevant. It eliminates the unrealistic answers like cure cancer or solve global warming. What would you do that’s within your reach?
Anything is possible, but not everything is probable. You have to scale the answer down to your physical and mental capabilities and to your own time frame. If you’re young then you have more time. If you’re older you have less time.
When you can answer this question honestly you will be well on your way to improving your life. Or shall I say maximizing your life.
If you can allow yourself to think above and beyond your obstacles and see what could be within reason, the resulting vision it’s self can be empowering and motivating.
If you can look above and beyond the obstacles then you can probably find a path to your ultimate goal. Something that will give meaning and purpose to your life and puts a permanent smile on your face.
This is an action question and not a theoretical question. But the answer contains the elements of the underlying smaller questions. It helps you look over the details and lets you see what is both possible and probable.
Probable means realistic. And your goals have to realistic because your time, talents and resources are limited. But not necessarily as limited as you might think.
This question makes you stretch your imagination beyond your daily comfort zone and ask what if. But in a realistic manner.
